The Nomadic Museum is a temporary structure used to house the Ashes and Snow photography and film exhibition by Gregory Colbert. The first Nomadic Museum, designed by Japanese architect Shigeru Ban and engineers Buro Happold, debuted with the opening of Ashes and Snow in New York City in March 2005. The museum then traveled to Santa Monica, California, in 2006, Tokyo in 2007, and Mexico City in 2008.

At the beginning of 2006 Heljan announced the upcoming production of a fully digital HO Scale Container Crane, part number HN8900. This fantastic model has been produced in conjunction with Lenz and features 5 motors, allowing the unit to pick-up, set-down and rotate containers with the magnetic grab. The crane can also move back and forth along the track base.

Debbie Glassberg of Kansas City knew that if she could make a home for her family to feel comfortable living in, then she could make homes for others as well.
She made a great house out of 5 steel shipping containers. The house is 2,600 square feet of light and living space incorporating geothermal heating, plant foam insulation and some passive solar.
