Hard to believe but when it opens-up in under a minute and transforms into a restaurant, you’ll believe it.
It’s called MUVBOX because it can be moved. Since it is not set permanently in the ground, there is no need for building permits. It can be dropped anywhere, with relative ease, without a large truck cabin lingering around taking up space. Daily opening and closing and table set-up is simple. And the whole container can be easily transported by road, rail or sea.

After 20 years of living in New York City, painter and DJ Andrea Shapiro decided that she needed a change of pace. Drawn to the beauty of the Hamptons, Andrea found herself inspired by the ocean and influenced by the light and color of the landscape. From seven recycled shipping containers, architect Bernard Morin and his wife Joyce Labelle built this contemporary residence in St. Adele, Quebec. The home is the first of many to come for their new company, Maison Idekit, which will help homeowners turn containers into architecturally unique, and inexpensive, houses.

Debbie Glassberg of Kansas City knew that if she could make a home for her family to feel comfortable living in, then she could make homes for others as well.
She made a great house out of 5 steel shipping containers. The house is 2,600 square feet of light and living space incorporating geothermal heating, plant foam insulation and some passive solar.
