Debbie Glassberg of Kansas City knew that if she could make a home for her family to feel comfortable living in, then she could make homes for others as well.
She made a great house out of 5 steel shipping containers. The house is 2,600 square feet of light and living space incorporating geothermal heating, plant foam insulation and some passive solar.
“We love it. It’s great space for living, great for entertaining”, Debbie Glassberg said.
This model of house building could one day be used to help disaster victims who have lost their homes. The container homes could be shipped to the areas, ready to assemble, complete with decorating materials inside.
